I hope to open up a discussion regarding the latest trends in dentistry with you, our interested readers! If you would like to hear about a specific topic in dentistry or if you have a question, please send me an e-mail at . I’d love to hear from you!

Today’s question is – My dad is losing many of his teeth – What are his options?

Losing one’s teeth can be a very traumatic experience and make enjoying life more difficult to say the least. It is estimated that in the United States alone, more than 40 million people have lost their teeth completely. Until now, dentures, which are removable artificial teeth that are made to closely resemble the patients’ original teeth, have been the most common answer for many adults who have lost or are losing their teeth. However, now there is a newer approach to reinvigorating your smile and your ability to chew again.

This technique is generally known as “All-on-4” and is now becoming a popular, reliable way to have permanent teeth again.

This technique involves the placement of just 4 to 6 implants strategically located to support a beautifully designed “fixed” prosthesis.

Some of the benefits to the All-On-4 Treatment Option are:

• It is an affordable solution to missing teeth and a wonderful alternative to a denture.
• It utilizes an immediately functional, non-removable, screw retained implant-supported bridge
• The result is a great smile and renewed self confidence
• Improved ability to enjoy the foods you love, and an enriched lifestyle

If you would like to speak to Dr. Sherman about this technique or if you have any other dental concern, please call us at 516-538-1100. We will gladly arrange a free consultation to help you make better dental decisions.

Remember, we have evening and Saturday hours to help you work around your busy schedule. We are also here to help you if you ever have a dental emergency.
