Dentures
Losing your teeth not only affects your ability to chew and speak clearly, but it also impacts your self-esteem. If you are missing one or more teeth, Advanced Smile Design can bring back your beautiful smile. We offer several options for people who need teeth replacement, including dentures.
Dentures can be partial or full, and we can give you a treatment plan that suits your financial and aesthetic needs. With dentures, you will be able to:
- Improve your ability to chew
- Speak clearly
- Maintain the shape of your jaw
- Enhance your appearance
- Improve your oral health
The Procedure
Getting full or partial dentures is a very straightforward process. Your dentist will take an impression of your jaw and teeth using a mold. The color and shape of the dentures will also be matched to the color and shape of your natural teeth. You may be given temporary dentures while waiting for your permanent dentures to be ready.
If you are transitioning to a full denture, you will have to wait until such time all your remaining teeth are extracted and the gums have fully healed. This usually takes 3 months on average, hence the need for temporary dentures.
If you only need partial dentures, your replacement teeth will be attached to a gum-colored base that is attached to a framework made of metal, that is held in place by the adjacent teeth.
Flexible Partials
Right now, there’s an alternative to traditional dentures and it’s called flexible partial dentures. It doesn’t require rigid metal attachments that have to be secured in place by your natural teeth. The design, fit and materials used in flexible partial dentures are also better and durable.
